What is the Oomph 6 week challenge?


The Oomph challenge is our branding for the more commonly described “Boot camps”.  You have probably seen or even heard of, even experienced yourself how this type of exercise option works tremendously well for the majority of participants.  Why?  A number of reasons we believe; read on please

  • It’s easier to consider training to the best of your ability for a short period of time
  • We as humans seem to respond well to hyping ourselves up mentally for upcoming challenges.  This elevated mental stimulation is the key to success in my view.
  • Good results come from intense safe exercise, no question about it.  It’s as simple as burning more calories than you need each day – creating a calorie deficit.  It’s really hard to exercise intensely by yourself.
  • You know it works.  So much advertising around showing people’s success stories. A lot of motivation is created by the excitement of how it will feel to drastically improve your health and fitness.
 
 
Most of you have probably heard about these ‘Body Transformation’ type programmes by now as they are used regularly throughout the world by gyms, supplement companies, and other establishments similar in nature. Most of the programmes I have seen only vary slightly in duration, exercises, nutrition and supplements used. This lack of variation is due to the fact that the model has been proven to work very well indeed. This programme is not a ‘perfect’ long term plan but does help people make a tremendous start or boost to achieving your long term objectives.

The core of these programmes is based around the following:

 
  1. Building lean body weight (muscle) to accelerate the speed at which the body burns calories at rest and during exercise. Ladies a note for you; Do not be afraid to build muscle to attain a super toned body. You will not bulk up if you are eating to lose fat and build muscle!
  2. Performing increased amounts of aerobic exercise to burn off fat stores
  3. Controlling and restricting energy intake (food and beverages) to an exact level so that you maintain your muscle and burn off your excess fat as energy throughout the day
  4. Decreasing saturated fat, carbohydrates & sugars. Drastically reducing any alcohol intake
  5. And lastly, for some reason we humans love this type of finite challenge. It just works!
  6. We have seen that participants of these challenges change their bodies at 2- 3x the rate of the general gym population.
 

If you like achieving results fast and are not afraid to put in the effort in and out of the gym to get that,  you like interacting with others while you work on your health and fitness, want to be motivated and have loads of fun while you exercise,  have a think about this.  You may finally get into that outfit you’ve been trying on for so long!
